Our group landed in Namibia with a good supply of soccer balls as these are treasured by children of all ages because the balls they use are commonly made from what look like plastic bags filled with straw. (The photo showing old and new graphically illustrates the difference) Continue Reading…
The people we encountered on the road were often traders in hand crafts displayed on the roadside to entice travellers to stop and buy. The war fought between the South African forces, which were based here in Namibia, and the Russian supported troops based in Angola has had a lasting effect on the local people as can be seen by the handcrafts shown here.
