Helicopter Flight, Mt Kenya and Beyond

We had booked the Mt Kenya flight with Tropic Air Kenya before we left NZ but as the mountain had been shrouded in cloud for 8 days we had resigned ourselves to not being able to take the flight. Amboseli

According to our guide Amboseli was previously covered in forest but the Elephants (for which the region is famous) have decimated the forests and it is now mainly open plains. Wikepedia does not mention this so maybe our guide who is very very knowledgeable when it comes to the history of the parks is a bit off the mark here .   There are many bird species and a great number of different animals in this park. Kenya 2011

I recently spent 3 weeks in Kenya in several of their Wildlife Reserves. We were also lucky enough to get a clear day where we were able to fly by helicopter up to Mt Kenya and added an aerial game spotting flight as well.
