The game parks of Etosha, Caprivi and Chobe are home to a great variety of birds. Lilac Breasted Rollers are Botswannas national bird and are widespread through Namibia and other parts of Africa. many of the birds shown here are common to both countries. Read more…
Around 2002 Whitianga began a change from a town that almost went into hibernation over the winter months with empty streets (which was great for parking) to what is now quite a busy town with a New World Supermaket and a great variety of other shops and sevices. The catalyst for change was the Waterways Canal Housing project undertaken by Hopper Construction which created many jobs in the town. Read more…
Namibia offers stunning landscapes as well as the abundant wildlife and in particular the Sand Dunes of Sossusvlei and the dead forest of Deadvlei are a landscape photographers dream. The early morning starts to catch the perfect light are well worth the effort and it also means that one can avoid the heat of the sun from mid morning to mid afternoon. Like the description says, we have bus, we have a camera or two and we will travel! Along the way we meet people old friends and new, we take a few pictures and we then post it all (well not all!) here to share with friends, family and passer by’s.
